The Patek Philippe Grand Complications Sky Moon Tourbillon, Rare Handcrafts, reference 6002R-001, in hand-engraved rose gold with a Grand Feu champlevé and cloisonné enamel dial and a sky chart on the back, on a chestnut alligator strap. Manually wound calibre R TO 27 QR SID LU CL with 12 complications; 44 mm, 17.35 mm high.
The reference 6002R-001 is the Sky Moon Tourbillon in rose gold: a manually wound, double-faced watch with 12 complications, which Patek Philippe ranks as the second most complicated timepiece in its current collection. The front carries the time, the minute repeater on “cathedral” gongs and a perpetual calendar with retrograde date on a dial of brown Grand Feu enamel in champlevé and cloisonné on an 18K gold plate, with the aperture and moon-phase disc in champlevé enamel; the back is a sky chart reproducing the visible movement of the Moon and stars in the northern hemisphere, with sidereal time. The case, 44 mm across and 17.35 mm high, is hand-engraved with volutes over the case, lugs, crowns and slide piece, and it is humidity- and dust-protected only.
The calibre R TO 27 QR SID LU CL is hand-wound, 38 mm across and 12.61 mm high, with 705 parts and 55 jewels; it runs at 21,600 semi-oscillations an hour (3 Hz) on a Breguet balance spring, with 38 to 48 hours of power reserve, under the Patek Philippe Seal. On the front: the strike on two cathedral gongs, a tourbillon, the perpetual calendar with a retrograde date hand, the day, month and leap year in apertures, and moon phases, read against applied rose gold Roman numerals with hand-engraved rose gold leaf-shaped hands. On the back: hours and minutes of sidereal time, the sky chart, an ellipse marking the visible sky for a given latitude, the meridian with the passage times of Sirius and the Moon, and the Moon's angular motion.
