How do I get a valuation for my watch?

Send us the brand, model or reference, condition, and details of any box, papers or accessories. Clear photographs will help us assess the watch and provide an initial valuation.

Is the valuation free?

Yes. Initial valuations are free and there is no obligation to sell or trade your watch.

What watches does HYPA buy?

HYPA specialises in high-end watches from brands including Rolex, Patek Philippe, Audemars Piguet, Richard Mille, F.P. Journe and Greubel Forsey. We generally consider watches valued at $20,000 AUD or more.

Can I sell my watch to HYPA from overseas?

Yes. HYPA purchases watches from clients in Australia and internationally.

How is my watch inspected and authenticated?

Every watch is physically inspected and authenticated before payment. In Australia, HYPA can arrange inspection with an approved watchmaker based on your location. International watches are generally inspected by HYPA’s watchmaker in Hong Kong.

How do I send my watch for inspection?

If you choose to proceed after receiving an initial valuation, HYPA will provide delivery or shipping instructions based on your location and the inspection arrangements for your watch.

When will I be paid?

Payment is made by bank transfer after the watch has been received, inspected and authenticated, and its condition and details have been confirmed.

Can the final offer change after inspection?

Yes. The initial valuation is based on the information and photographs you provide. If the watch differs materially in condition, reference, configuration, completeness or other relevant details, the final offer may be adjusted.

Can I sell a watch without its original box or papers?

Yes. HYPA considers watches with or without their original box and papers. Missing documentation or accessories may affect the valuation.

Can I trade my watch toward another watch?

Yes. HYPA can assess your watch for trade toward an available or sourced timepiece. The agreed trade value and any balance payable will be confirmed before the transaction proceeds.
