Who we are

HYPA International Pty Ltd (ACN 655 066 069) is a registered second-hand dealer in Victoria (licence SHD-0018017) trading as HYPA, located at 20 Queens Rd, Melbourne VIC 3004. We collect and handle personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles.

What we collect

When you send an enquiry through this website, we collect the details you give us: your name, email address, phone number, your message, and where relevant the watch reference you are asking about. If you use the sell form, we also collect the description and photographs of your watch that you choose to upload.

If you go on to buy from us or sell to us, we collect the information needed to complete the transaction, verify identity and prevent fraud. When we purchase a watch from you, Victorian second-hand dealer law requires us to record and retain your identification details.

How we use it

• To respond to your enquiry and communicate with you about a purchase, sale, sourcing request, warranty or service.
• To carry out identity verification and fraud-prevention checks.
• To meet our record-keeping obligations as a licensed second-hand dealer.
• To understand how the website is used and to improve it, as described under Website analytics below.

We do not sell personal information. We do not disclose it to third parties except where it is necessary to complete a transaction, where you have asked us to, or where the law requires it.

Website analytics

To understand how visitors use this website and to improve it, we use two analytics services: Google Analytics, provided by Google, and Microsoft Clarity, provided by Microsoft. These services use cookies and similar technologies to collect information such as the pages you visit, how long you stay, the device and browser you use, your approximate location based on your IP address, and how you interact with pages, including clicks, scrolling and mouse movement. Microsoft Clarity may reconstruct a replay of a browsing session from this information. Text you type into forms is masked and is not recorded.

This information is used in aggregate to see which pages are useful, where visitors run into problems and how the website performs. It is not used to identify you by name, and we do not combine it with the details you give us when you make an enquiry.

Google and Microsoft process this information on their own servers, which may be outside Australia, under their respective privacy policies: Google Privacy Policy and Microsoft Privacy Statement. You can opt out of Google Analytics with the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on, and you can limit both services by disabling cookies in your browser.

Cookies

Apart from the analytics cookies described above, this website sets only the cookies needed for it to work. Disabling cookies in your browser will not stop you from browsing the catalogue or sending an enquiry.

Storage and security

Enquiries are delivered to our email and stored in our website’s administration system, which is hosted by third-party providers. Some of those providers operate servers outside Australia. We take reasonable steps to protect personal information from misuse, loss and unauthorised access, and we keep it only for as long as it is needed for the purposes above or as the law requires.

Accuracy, access and correction

You are responsible for making sure the personal information you give us is accurate and up to date. You can ask us at any time what personal information we hold about you, and ask us to correct or delete it, by emailing contact@hypa.international.

Complaints

If you have a concern about how we have handled your personal information, contact us first at contact@hypa.international and we will respond as soon as we can. If you are not satisfied with our response, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.

We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top shows when it was last changed, and the current version is always the one published on this page.
