Three engraved rollers assembling a phrase on demand
The RM 69 was released in 2015 in a limited edition of 30 pieces. Alongside its tourbillon it carries a complication Richard Mille calls the oracle, developed with Audemars Piguet Renaud & Papi: three engraved grade 5 titanium rollers, turning like prayer wheels, which stop at random to assemble a short phrase in a subject–verb–complement structure. The phrases are suggestive, and the model is catalogued by Richard Mille as an erotic watch.
Pressing the pusher at 10 o’clock sets the rollers turning. A second mechanism, at 8 o’clock, releases the hands from the going train so that they drop clear of the rollers; they return to the correct time automatically when released.
Richard Mille documents the case as grade 5 titanium, in three parts, assembled with 20 titanium spline screws. The card’s WG suffix is not supported by any source found, and the photograph shows a brushed grey metal consistent with titanium.
