Overview
Three engraved rollers assembling a phrase on demand
The RM 69 was released in 2015 in a limited edition of 30 pieces. Alongside its tourbillon it carries a complication Richard Mille calls the oracle, developed with Audemars Piguet Renaud & Papi: three engraved grade 5 titanium rollers, turning like prayer wheels, which bring random statements into view. The phrases evoke desired pleasure, hence the name Erotic Tourbillon.
Pressing the pusher at 10 o’clock sets the rollers turning. A second mechanism, at 8 o’clock, releases the hands from the going train so that they drop clear of the rollers; they return to the correct time automatically when released.
The tonneau case is made in three parts in grade 5 titanium, assembled with 20 titanium spline screws and water-resistant to 50 metres.
