A tourbillon calibre hand-painted by a graffiti artist
The RM 68-01 Tourbillon Cyril Kongo was released in 2016 in a limited edition of 30 pieces. Its subject is the movement itself: the baseplate, bridges and flange were hand-painted by the French street artist Cyril Kongo, who took more than a year to develop a technique for the scale. A micro spray gun was built to apply paint droplet by droplet, and the weight of the paint had to be fixed in advance so that the calibre’s balance was not disturbed.
Each of the 30 watches was worked individually, so no two are painted alike. From the front, the bridges arc in different directions; from the back, the baseplate radiates outward from the centre.

Design and engineering
- Calibre RM68-01Manual winding tourbillon movement with hours and minutes. It measures 30.50 × 28.70 mm with a thickness of 8.39 mm, runs on 19 jewels at 21,600 vph (3 Hz), and provides circa 42 hours (± 10%) of power reserve. The tourbillon is 10.90 mm in diameter and the balance wheel 10.00 mm.
- Hand-painted calibreEvery baseplate, bridge and wheel is painted and spray-treated by Kongo. The colours had to adhere permanently to titanium components and survive dismantling and reassembly.
- Asymmetric caseThe case tapers in two directions: in thickness from 9 to 3 o’clock, and in height between 12 and 6 o’clock.
- Case materialsA Carbon TPT® caseband with black ceramic bezels front and back, with a grade 5 titanium flange around the movement.
- Free-sprung balance with variable inertiaSpecified for reliability through shock and through movement assembly and disassembly.
