Overview
Fully set white gold case with a green and mother-of-pearl composition
The RM 71-01 Automatic Tourbillon Talisman was introduced in 2018 as a suite of ten variations, each in an edition of five pieces, designed by Cécile Guenat, Richard Mille’s Creative and Development Director, who cites Art Deco and tribal art as her references.
This variation sets the white gold case throughout, with a dial composition combining green stone, mother-of-pearl and rose gold pavé in a fanned form above the tourbillon. The strap is white leather.
The calibre CRMT1 was new to the model: Richard Mille’s eighth in-house movement and its first automatic tourbillon, 6.2 mm thick and weighing eight grams.

Design and engineering
- Calibre CRMT1Automatic winding tourbillon movement with hours, minutes and a variable-geometry rotor. Skeletonised and tonneau-shaped, it is no more than 6.2 mm thick and weighs 8 grams, beating at 28,800 vph (4 Hz) with 50 hours of power reserve. Richard Mille records 1,000 hours of development for it: its eighth in-house calibre and its first automatic tourbillon.
- Open baseplateThe baseplate protecting the tourbillon’s rotation is left open to preserve transparency through the movement.
- Gem-set variable-geometry rotorThe bidirectional rotor is itself set with stones, and its geometry can be adjusted so that winding matches the wearer’s activity level.
- Free-sprung balance with variable inertiaSpecified for reliability through shock and through movement assembly and disassembly.
- Dial compositionBuilt up from stone and mother-of-pearl over the skeletonised movement, with the setting continuing across the case, so that jewellery and case are worked as one.
- CaseWhite gold, 52.20 × 34.40 × 12.50 mm, with sapphire crystals front and back and a water resistance of 50 m.
