The green and yellow flange of the launch colourway
This is the RM 61-01 in the colours it launched with in 2014: a black case carrying a green inner bezel, a yellow flange in anodised aluminium, and two green and yellow bridges crossing the front of the movement. The crown collar is yellow. Richard Mille relates the colours to the Jamaican flag and to Yohan Blake’s nickname.
Construction follows the standard RM 61-01: TZP-N black ceramic bezel and caseback, NTPT® carbon caseband, and the manual winding calibre RMUL2 in grade 5 titanium with PVD and Titalyt® treatment.

Design and engineering
- Calibre RMUL2Manual winding skeletonised movement with a power reserve of 55 hours, built on a grade 5 titanium baseplate and bridges treated with PVD and Titalyt®. The movement is 3.15 mm thick, runs on 24 jewels at 28,800 vph (4 Hz), and weighs 4.3 grams.
- Flying bridgesThe bridges woven into the front of the movement are anodised and hand-painted.
- TZP-N ceramicA black ceramic composed of 95% zirconium compound stabilised with yttrium, with a density of 6 g/cm³. Richard Mille specifies it for scratch resistance and a low coefficient of thermal conductivity, finished matte on top with hand-polished bevelled angles at the sides.
- NTPT® carbon casebandMultiple layers of parallel filaments obtained by dividing carbon fibre, consolidated under pressure and machined so that the layer structure is exposed.
- Free-sprung balance with variable inertiaRegulation is by adjustable weights on the balance rather than by a regulator index.
- Shock resistanceValidated in excess of 5,000 g, with the case geometry and crown protectors developed for use during sprinting.
