A composite case replacing the ceramic
The RM 61-01 Ultimate Edition is the final issue of the model. TZP ceramic gives way to Quartz TPT® and Carbon TPT® for the bezel and caseback, with Carbon TPT® also used for the caseband and for the crown protector. The white and black banding of the interleaved composites runs across the case, on a black rubber strap.
The two materials are combined in a single stack: layers of silica-based Quartz TPT® no more than 45 microns thick are interlaced with layers of Carbon TPT®, positioned by an automatic compiling system that rotates the fibre orientation by 45° between plies. The 600-layer stack is cured in an autoclave at 120°C under 6 bar and then machined in-house, so milling and turning expose a pattern that differs on every component.

- The last of the modelRichard Mille describes the Ultimate Edition as the final issue of the RM 61-01, but gives neither a year nor an edition size for it.
