Movement supported on a woven mesh of a single 0.27 mm steel cable
Made for the tenth anniversary of the partnership, the RM 27-04 supports its entire movement on a micro-blasted mesh covering 855 square millimetres, woven from a single braided steel cable 0.27 mm in diameter and held under tension by two tensioners in PVD-treated 5N gold. The suspended calibre resists accelerations of more than 12,000 g, a record for Richard Mille at the time.
The case is TitaCarb®, a high-performance polyamide strengthened with 38.5% carbon fibre, giving a tensile strength of 370 MPa (3,700 kg/cm²). The complete watch weighs 30 grammes including the strap. The edition runs to 50 pieces.
