Tourbillon certified to 10,000 g
Released in 2017 and presented at Roland-Garros, the RM 27-03 raised the shock resistance of the tourbillon movement to 10,000 g. Richard Mille records years of development and hundreds of hours of pendulum impact testing behind that figure, with the calibre further skeletonised and built from fewer components to reduce weight.
The case is Quartz TPT® in red and yellow, produced by impregnating layers of silica 45 microns thick with tinted resin. The skeletonised bridges around the barrel, the great wheel and the tourbillon are shaped to suggest the forward-facing head of a bull. A fast-rotating barrel supplies 70 hours of power reserve. The edition runs to 50 pieces.
