The RM 27-05 closes the series that began with the RM 027 in 2010. It weighs 11.5 grammes excluding the strap and withstands 14,000 g — two records at once for a manual-winding tourbillon watch, on Richard Mille’s own account. The project began in 2019.
The case measures 37.25 mm by 7.2 mm in Carbon TPT® B.4, with the movement secured within a monobloc caseback and caseband unit that removes the need for case screws. The calibre RM27-05 derives from the ultra-thin RMUP-01 used in the RM UP-01 Ferrari, with a flying tourbillon at 3 Hz and 55 hours of power reserve. The baseplate and most of the bridges are black-coated titanium; only the V-shaped bridge visible on the dial is Carbon TPT® B.4.
