First unibody baseplate
The RM 27-02 marks a structural shift in Richard Mille’s approach to case engineering, introducing the brand’s first skeletonised unibody baseplate. Inspired by the monocoque chassis of racing cars, the caseband and baseplate are fused into a single rigid component, eliminating traditional attachments and increasing shock resistance.
Produced as a boutique limited edition of 10 pieces for the Asian market, this iteration of the RM 27-02 substitutes the white Quartz TPT® of the standard model for an all-Carbon TPT® construction. The dark composite case is accented with a red crown, flange ring, and rubber strap, housing a 3.35-gram manual-winding tourbillon calibre.

- Unibody constructionThe RM 27-02 caseband and baseplate are machined from a single block of Carbon TPT®. This monocoque architecture removes the need to secure the movement to the case with screws, transmitting loads through a single structure to improve rigidity and impact resistance.
- Carbon TPT® caseUnlike the standard RM 27-02 which utilises Quartz TPT® for the front and back bezels, this Asia Limited Edition is constructed entirely from Carbon TPT®. The material is built from layers of parallel carbon filaments, impregnated with resin and woven at 45-degree angles, creating a striated finish unique to each machined piece.
- Grade 5 titanium bridgesThe calibre is secured by highly skeletonised grade 5 titanium bridges. These three-dimensional components feature a combination of hand-polished bevelling, shot-blasted milled sections, and stretched upper surfaces, supporting both the fast-rotating barrel and the tourbillon carriage.
- Calibre RM27-02The manual-winding tourbillon movement operates at 3 Hz and delivers a 70-hour power reserve. Its fast-rotating barrel is designed to diminish periodic internal mainspring adhesion and ensure a regular power delivery to the free-sprung variable-inertia balance.
