Overview
Green Quartz TPT® with Carbon TPT®, the first RM 21-02 execution
Launched in December 2022, this was the first execution of the RM 21-02 Tourbillon Aerodyne, in an edition of 50 pieces. The case combines Carbon TPT® with green Quartz TPT®. Both materials show regular undulations across their surfaces, a consequence of the layered construction: filaments obtained by dividing carbon fibre or silica thread, impregnated with black and green matrices, woven with the weft direction changing by 45° between layers, then heated to 120 °C at 6 bar before CNC machining.
The calibre is finished with black and grey PVD and hand-polished anglage, and runs at 21,600 vph with a power reserve of around 70 hours.

Design and engineering
- Green matrix Quartz TPT®The colour is carried in the matrix impregnating the silica filaments rather than applied to the surface, so machining exposes it through the depth of the material.
- HAYNES 214 honeycomb baseplateThe nickel-chromium-aluminium-iron alloy is laid in a honeycombed geometry with a black PVD treatment, over a Carbon TPT® core. The cells are juxtaposed and laser-welded individually.
- Central barrel and tourbillonThe winding barrel and tourbillon are placed centrally, carried on titanium bridges with four arms on either side.
- Torque and power-reserve indicatorsTorque at 1 o’clock and power reserve at 11 o’clock report the energy stored in the barrel and its usable quality.
- Movement finishingBlack and grey PVD treatment with hand-polished anglage, sapphire-blasted milled sections, lapped and polished contact points and burnished pivots.
