Overview
A fully set white gold case with a green micro-painted dragon
This is a gem-set execution of the RM 057 Dragon–Jackie Chan: an 18K white gold case with diamond setting across the bezel, caseband and lugs, a black onyx baseplate, and a dragon finished in green and yellow rather than plain gold. The strap is black alligator.
Richard Mille’s specification for the RM 057 records that on specific versions the dragon’s scales are hand-painted using micro-painting techniques to raise the level of detail; this is one of those versions. The base construction is unchanged — calibre RM057, black onyx baseplate, grade 5 titanium bridges with black PVD, and the rotating engraved signature disc.

Design and engineering
- Calibre RM057Manual winding tourbillon with hours, minutes and power-reserve indicator, running on 21 jewels at 21,600 vph (3 Hz), the reserve shown by a red line on a moving disc between 10 and 11 o’clock.
- Micro-painted dragonThe gold dragon is hand-engraved and, on versions such as this one, its scales are coloured by hand using micro-painting. The body twists around the bridges and barrel, with a claw clasping the tourbillon.
- Black onyx baseplateThe baseplate is cut from black onyx rather than metal — a cryptocrystalline quartz chalcedony of silicon dioxide. A disc set into its side carries an engraved Jackie Chan signature and rotates once every 60 seconds, in step with the tourbillon.
- Diamond settingStones are set across the bezel, caseband and lugs. Richard Mille’s RM 057 specification refers to stones set in white gold bezel settings.
- Variable-inertia free-sprung balanceThere is no index plate; adjustment is made with four setting screws on a Glucydur balance with two arms, a moment of inertia of 10 mg·cm² and an angle of lift of 53°.
- Torque-limiting crownFitted to prevent accidental overwinding, which could damage the winding stem or place extreme pressure on the mainspring barrel.
