Overview
Snow-set red gold case with a white set centre frame
The RM 037 runs the CRMA1, Richard Mille’s first in-house calibre, with hours, minutes, an oversize date under 12 o’clock and a function selector. The tripartite tonneau case is assembled from bezel, caseband and caseback, each with a cambered profile that has to marry precisely to seal the movement.
This execution is red gold, snow set across the bezel and caseband. The set dial-centre frame is white metal, framing a black panel, and the hands are red gold against a black rubber strap.

Design and engineering
- Snow settingStones of differing diameters are placed to fill the surface without a repeating grid, so that no metal shows between them. Snow setting is a technique rather than a point on a coverage scale.
- Oversize dateSemi-instantaneous, placed horizontally under 12 o’clock and driven by two skeletonised calendar discs over a white field.
- Function selectorA push-button at 4 o’clock selects winding, neutral and hand-setting with a single push, in the manner of a gearbox; an aperture alongside shows W, N or H. A second push-button at 10 o’clock corrects the date.
- Patented stem-crown assemblyThe crown is part of the case rather than the movement, so no classical crown attachment penetrates to the heart of the calibre. It is sealed with an Alcryn® O-ring and collar.
- Variable-geometry rotorHeavy external outside edge and edge ring in ARCAP, weight segment in heavy metal, ceramic ball bearings and a OneWay® winding system, allowing the winding rate to be set to the wearer’s activity level.
- Fast-rotating barrelOne revolution in five hours rather than the conventional 7.5, which improves the mainspring’s delta curve.
