The rose gold execution carries a silvery sunburst dial with applied numerals and leaf-shaped hands in rose gold, on a shiny mink grey alligator strap as fitted, with a second strap in shiny royal purple, and a rose gold prong buckle set with 27 diamonds (0.23 ct). Patek Philippe no longer lists the reference in its current collection.
The reference 7140 is the perpetual calendar Patek Philippe presented under the name Ladies First: the self-winding calibre 240 Q, which the brand calls its famous ultra-thin automatic, in a case 35.1 mm across and 8.55 mm high with a bezel set with 68 diamonds (0.68 ct) and a prong buckle set with 27 more (0.23 ct), 95 diamonds in all (0.91 ct).
The calibre 240 winds through a 22K gold minirotor set off-centre into the movement rather than a full rotor turning above it, which is why Patek Philippe calls it ultra-thin: the complete calibre 240 Q is 3.88 mm high across 27.5 mm, with 275 parts and 27 jewels. The calendar is read by hands — day, date, month, leap year and a 24-hour indication — with the moon phases in an aperture. It runs at 21,600 semi-oscillations an hour on a Gyromax® balance with a Spiromax® balance spring, for a power reserve of 38 to 48 hours, and carries the Patek Philippe Seal.
