Overview
Annual Calendar and Travel Time together
The Patek Philippe Complications Annual Calendar, Travel Time, reference 5326G-001, in white gold with a hobnail-guilloched caseband and a textured charcoal grey dial, on a beige nubuck calfskin strap. Self-winding calibre 31-260 PS QA LU FUS 24H with two time zones, the date kept to local time, and moon phases; 41 mm, 11.07 mm high.
The reference 5326G-001 combines two of Patek Philippe's travel-minded complications in one self-winding watch: an Annual Calendar and the Travel Time second time zone, with the date kept to local time. It sits in the Complications collection in a Calatrava-type case of white gold, 41 mm across and 11.07 mm high, with the caseband guilloched in a hobnail pattern around its entire circumference. The dial is textured charcoal grey with a black-gradient rim, a texture Patek Philippe likens to old camera cases, with white gold applied numerals and syringe-shaped hands, all with beige luminescent coating. It is delivered on a beige nubuck calfskin strap with a white gold fold-over clasp, with a second strap in black calfskin with a fabric pattern.
The calibre 31-260 PS QA LU FUS 24H is self-winding, wound by a platinum off-centre minirotor. Its Travel Time shows two time zones: a solid syringe hand for local time and a skeletonised one for home time, each with its own day/night indication in an aperture. The Annual Calendar shows day, date and month in apertures, and Patek Philippe's point is that the date always follows local time, so the calendar does not have to be reset when the local hand is moved. Moon phases and small seconds complete the dial. The movement measures 33 mm across and 5.6 mm high, with 409 parts and 47 jewels, runs at 28,800 semi-oscillations an hour on a Gyromax® balance with a Spiromax® balance spring, has a power reserve of 38 to 48 hours, and carries the Patek Philippe Seal.
For collectors
Patek Philippe presents the date's coupling to local time as the reason for the pairing: a Travel Time on its own leaves the date behind when the local hour is moved past midnight, and this reference keeps the two in step. Patek Philippe describes both complications as practical and easy to use, which is its characterisation of them.
