Sapphires and diamonds on the Luce
The Patek Philippe Aquanaut Luce Haute Joaillerie, reference 5268/461G-001, in white gold set with 72 baguette-cut sapphires, 38 baguette-cut diamonds and a snow-set hour ring of 160 brilliant-cut diamonds, on a dark blue composite strap. Self-winding calibre 26-330 S with sweep seconds and stop-seconds; 38.8 mm from 10 to 4 o'clock, 9.1 mm high.
The reference 5268/461G-001 is the Aquanaut Luce Haute Joaillerie in white gold, set with baguette-cut sapphires and diamonds and with a snow-set diamond hour ring. The bezel carries a row of 40 baguette-cut sapphires graded from light to dark blue, the lugs 8 baguette-cut diamonds, and the dial centre alternates 20 baguette-cut sapphires with 20 baguette-cut diamonds in a checkerboard Patek Philippe presents as recalling the Aquanaut pattern. The case is 38.8 mm from 10 to 4 o'clock and 9.1 mm high, with a screw-down crown and a sapphire crystal back, on a dark blue composite strap whose white gold fold-over clasp is set with 10 baguette-cut diamonds.
The movement is the self-winding calibre 26-330 S, the sweep-seconds version without a date: 27 mm across, 3.32 mm high, 181 parts and 29 jewels, wound by a 21K gold central rotor, with the stop-seconds function Patek Philippe names. It runs at 28,800 semi-oscillations an hour on a Gyromax® balance with a Spiromax® balance spring, for a power reserve of at least 45 hours, and carries the Patek Philippe Seal. The dial plate is 18K gold; the 12 hour markers are baguette-cut sapphires (0.56 ct) and the hour ring is paved with 160 brilliant-cut diamonds (0.71 ct) in snow setting, with white gold baton hands and a blue varnished seconds hand.
