The Aquanaut on a composite strap
The Patek Philippe Aquanaut, reference 5167A-001, in steel with a sunburst charcoal grey dial, black-gradient rim and embossed Aquanaut pattern, on a black composite strap with a steel fold-over clasp. Self-winding calibre 26-330 S C with date in an aperture and sweep seconds; 40.8 mm from 10 to 4 o'clock, 8.1 mm high.
The reference 5167 is the Aquanaut with date and sweep seconds, the collection's plain self-winding form. The dial carries the embossed Aquanaut pattern with a rim shading to black, and the composite strap closes with a patented fold-over clasp in steel. The case measures 40.8 mm from 10 to 4 o'clock and 8.1 mm high, with a screw-down crown and a sapphire crystal back through which the movement is seen.
The movement is the self-winding calibre 26-330 S C: 27 mm across, 3.32 mm high, 207 parts and 30 jewels, wound by a 21K gold central rotor. The date sits in an aperture and the seconds hand runs from the centre. It beats at 28,800 semi-oscillations an hour on a Gyromax® balance with a Spiromax® balance spring, for a power reserve of 35 to 45 hours, and carries the Patek Philippe Seal. Patek Philippe describes the case and bezel as finished in alternating polished and satin-brushed surfaces, which is what gives the shape its relief.
