Résonance for the second anniversary
The F.P. Journe Chronomètre à Résonance Anniversaire Tokyo, reference RN, in polished titanium with crowns in 18K 6N gold, with the ruthenium-on-gold and whitened guilloché silver dial. 40 mm and 9.1 mm high, hand-wound calibre 1499.2, with two balances in resonance and two time displays.
For the Tokyo boutique's second anniversary in 2006, F.P. Journe made the Chronomètre à Résonance in a polished titanium case with 18K 6N gold crowns and a ruthenium-coated gold dial, in 12 pieces numbered 1 to 12 and sold only at the Tokyo boutique. The model itself was first shown in 2000. The edition belongs to the anniversary series the brand created to honour the clients of its boutiques; F.P. Journe now directs clients to the Chronomètre à Résonance in platinum or 18K 6N gold.
Resonance, in F.P. Journe's description, is two frequencies falling into harmony. Each of the two balances serves in turn as exciter and resonator; once both are moving they come into sympathy and settle into beating in opposition, resting against each other, which the brand says gives their motion more inertia. Calibre 1499.2 has two linear escapements and two free-sprung balances, each with four inertia weights and a flat micro-flamed Anachron spring. It shows the time twice, 24 hours on the left dial and 12 on the right, each with small seconds at 6, and the reserve at 11 o'clock.

Pulling the button at 4 o'clock returns both small seconds hands to zero together.
