A perpetual calendar in titanium
The F.P. Journe Octa Perpétuelle Anniversaire Tokyo, reference OP, in polished titanium with crown and pusher in 18K 6N gold, on a leather strap, with the ruthenium-on-gold and whitened guilloché silver dial. 40 mm and 10.6 mm high, self-winding Octa calibre with an instant-jump perpetual calendar and retrograde date.
For the fifth anniversary of its Tokyo boutique, F.P. Journe made the Octa Perpétuelle in a polished titanium case with an 18K 6N gold crown and pusher and a ruthenium-coated gold dial, in a limited series numbered 1 to 99, produced in 2009 and 2010. The brand created these anniversary editions to honour the clients of its boutiques. The edition is no longer available, and F.P. Journe now directs clients to its Quantième Perpétuel in platinum or 18K 6N gold.
The perpetual calendar is built on the self-winding Octa calibre in 18K rose gold and changes by instant jump. The date is retrograde, the day and the month have their own windows, and the leap-year position is shown within the February window. Months of 28, 29, 30 and 31 days follow one another automatically, leap years included. A safety pusher at 8 o'clock advances the months for the initial setting; it is built so that it cannot be pressed by accident, yet needs no tool. The off-centre rotor winds in one direction on a self-locking ball bearing.

The polished titanium anniversary case was made for this series; F.P. Journe points clients today to the Quantième Perpétuel in platinum or 18K 6N gold.
