Twenty years in Tokyo
The F.P. Journe Chronographe FB, reference FB, in polished titanium with crown and pushers in 18K 6N gold, on a burgundy alligator strap with a 6N gold folding clasp, and the ruthenium-coated guilloché silver dial with sapphire counters. 40 mm and 10.4 mm high, hand-wound flyback calibre 1518.2.
F.P. Journe opened its Tokyo boutique in September 2003 in Aoyama, inside Tadao Ando's La Collezione building; in the brand's account Journe was the first to open a subsidiary and a boutique under his own name, and Tokyo was the start of the brand's worldwide expansion. The Tokyo Boutique Anniversary Series, begun in 2005, was created to thank boutique clients. The Chronographe FB marks twenty years in Japan and was produced in 2024 in 200 pieces.
Calibre 1518.2 is hand-wound, in 18K rose gold, and adds a flyback to the chronograph: pressing the pusher at 4 o'clock resets the running chronograph and restarts it at once, so successive times can be taken without a separate stop, reset and start. The central chronograph hand turns once in 2 minutes against a tachymeter scale based on 1000 m. The minute counter at 3 o'clock covers 60 minutes, its hand jumping 2 minutes at a time; running seconds are at 9 and the very large date at 6.
For collectors
F.P. Journe states that the Chronographe FB, at 200 pieces, will be the brand's last Limited Series. It closes the Tokyo anniversary series in the codes that opened it in 2005: a polished titanium case, an 18K 6N gold crown and a ruthenium dial.
