Burgundy Quartz TPT® case
The RM 67-02 made for the Qatari high jumper Mutaz Essa Barshim uses a burgundy Quartz TPT® case, the colour of the Qatari flag, with matching burgundy and white markings across the skeletonised bridges and a white textile strap.
Quartz TPT® takes colour in a way that Carbon TPT® cannot, which is why the coloured executions in this series are silica-based composites rather than carbon.

Design and engineering
- Calibre CRMA7Skeletonised automatic winding movement with hours and minutes, on 25 jewels at 28,800 vph (4 Hz), with around 50 hours (± 10%) of power reserve.
- Quartz TPT® caseSilica fibres aligned in layers no thicker than 45 microns, saturated in resins developed for Richard Mille, stacked with a 45° rotation between layers, then heated to 120°C at 6 bar and CNC-machined. Richard Mille notes that quartz fibres are used industrially for their resistance to high temperature, their strength and their transparency to electromagnetic waves.
- Titanium dial0.40 mm, black DLC-treated, hand-painted in the colours of the partner’s flag.
- Baseplate and bridgesGrade 5 titanium. The baseplate carries a black DLC treatment, which Richard Mille specifies for rigidity and for the surface flatness the gear train requires; the bridges carry a grey DLC treatment and are satin-finished, microblasted and bevelled by hand.
- RotorCarbon TPT® and white gold, on the OneWay® winding system with ceramic ball bearings, which allows the barrel to be wound efficiently in an extra-flat calibre.
- Case assemblyWater-resistant to 30 m via two nitrile O-ring seals, assembled with 12 grade 5 titanium spline screws and 316L stainless steel washers.
- Comfort strapEntirely seamless, non-slip and highly elastic; Richard Mille describes it as the lightest strap it has made. The complete watch weighs 32 grams with the strap.
