Overview
Unset red gold case
The plain red gold execution of the RM 67-01, with gold numerals and hands over the skeletonised movement and a black rubber strap. No stones are set.
The RM 67-01 brought the tonneau shape into extra-flat form for the first time at Richard Mille, at 38.70 × 47.52 mm and 7.75 mm thick. The brand records what that cost in production terms: almost six hours more pure machining than comparable cases, 68 stamping operations across the bezel, caseband and back bezel, and more than 215 separate machining operations per case.

Design and engineering
- Calibre CRMA6Skeletonised automatic winding movement with hours, minutes, date and function indicator. It measures 29.10 × 31.25 mm with a thickness of 3.60 mm, runs on 25 jewels at 28,800 vph (4 Hz) and provides around 50 hours (± 10%) of power reserve.
- Baseplate and bridgesGrade 5 titanium. The baseplate is microblasted with a grey electroplasma treatment; the bridges are microblasted and black electroplasma treated, which Richard Mille records as a first for the brand.
- Platinum rotorA platinum rotor on the OneWay® winding system with ceramic ball bearings, which allows the barrel to be wound efficiently while keeping the movement’s compact dimensions.
- Fast-rotating barrelOne revolution every five hours instead of seven and a half, which Richard Mille specifies for reduced periodic internal mainspring adhesion and a favourable mainspring delta curve.
- Gear-teeth profileThe whole going train uses a special tooth profile with a 20° pressure angle, which Richard Mille states equalises discrepancies arising between wheel centres through thermal change and normal use, supporting torque transmission to the balance.
- Case productionThe extra-flat format demands almost six hours more pure machining than comparable cases in the collection, on top of 68 stamping operations for the bezel, caseband and back bezel. Machine tooling takes eight days of adjustment for the bezel and five each for the caseband and back bezel, preceded by 145 hours developing the methodology, 130 hours on tool drawings and 180 hours on implementation. Each case represents more than 215 separate machining operations, with a further eight hours for hand brushing and polishing, trial assembly, water-resistance testing, disassembly and final quality control.
