The RM 65-01 in Pastel Blue Quartz TPT®
The RM 65-01 Automatic Winding Split-Seconds Chronograph in Pastel Blue Quartz TPT®, Richard Mille’s coloured silica composite — bezel, caseband and caseback alike — with titanium pushers and crown picked out in orange and blue, on a black rubber strap. Machining exposes the composite’s layered structure, so the striations differ from one case to the next. Richard Mille presented the execution in 2024 as a regular addition to the collection.
Inside is calibre RMAC4, a skeletonised automatic movement running at 36,000 vph (5 Hz) with a split-seconds chronograph on two column wheels and a vertical clutch, a function selector, a variable-geometry rotor and a rapid-winding pusher at 8 o’clock that takes the barrel to a full charge in 125 presses. Power reserve is around 60 hours without the chronograph running.
The case measures 44.50 × 49.94 × 16.10 mm under sapphire crystals with anti-glare treatment on both sides, and is water resistant to 50 m.

Design and engineering
- Calibre RMAC4Skeletonised automatic winding movement with hours, minutes, seconds at 6 o’clock, date, split-seconds chronograph with a 30-minute counter at 3 o’clock and a 12-hour counter at 9 o’clock, function selector, rapid winding and variable-geometry rotor. It measures 31.78 × 29.98 mm by 8.69 mm thick, on 51 jewels at 36,000 vph (5 Hz), with around 60 hours (± 10%) of power reserve without the chronograph running.
- Quartz TPT® caseSilica filaments are divided into layers no thicker than 45 microns, saturated in resins developed for Richard Mille and stacked with the fibre orientation rotated between plies, then cured under heat and pressure and machined at the brand’s own facilities. Machining exposes the layer structure, so no two cases carry the same striation. Quartz TPT® is the coloured member of the TPT® family; Carbon TPT®, from carbon fibre, is black or grey.
- Split-seconds architectureTwo six-column wheels with a vertical clutch. The 5 Hz frequency allows elapsed times to be read to a tenth of a second. Richard Mille records shock and drop simulations, accelerated ten-year ageing of the functions, water-resistance testing and magnetic field trials for the chronograph.
- Rapid windingThe pusher at 8 o’clock rearms the barrel directly, without the crown; 125 presses take it to a full charge. Richard Mille specifies it for restarting a watch that has stopped.
- Fast-rotating barrelOne revolution every six hours instead of the more common seven and a half, which maintains torque across the power reserve.
