The Mask in a transparent brown case
The case is brown sapphire throughout, so the mask and the eight bridges carrying it to the caseband can be read from the flanks as well as through the front and back. The strap is white.
The mask remains a working component rather than an ornament: it serves as the wheel-train and tourbillon bridge, with the back of it acting as the movement’s centre bridge.

- Brown sapphire caseMilled and ground from blocks of coloured synthetic sapphire, a material rating 1,800 Vickers and effectively scratch-proof except by diamond. Breakage through the process is common enough to account for much of the cost.
