The astronaut suspended in a transparent case
The sapphire execution sets the same Martian composition inside a fully transparent case, so that the helmet, the enamelled visor and the aventurine-inset baseplate are visible from the flanks as well as the front. Red gold elements frame the display and the strap is yellow.
Sapphire is milled and ground from solid blocks, a process slow enough and prone enough to breakage that sapphire-cased Richard Milles sit at the top of the range.
