Overview
First execution of the RM 004
The V1 designates the first batch of RM 004s, built on the grade 5 titanium baseplate architecture used in the RM 002 and RM 003 tourbillons. The design was subsequently revised around a carbon nanofibre baseplate for the V2, and few titanium-baseplate examples were completed before that change.

Design and engineering
- Grade 5 titanium baseplateCarried over from the RM 002 and RM 003 tourbillons — 90% titanium, 6% aluminium, 4% vanadium — for rigidity and corrosion resistance at low weight.
- Split-seconds architectureComponents arranged laterally rather than stacked, with column wheels whose tooth geometry was developed for long-term stability of operation.
- Titanium handsSteel chronograph hands were found to accumulate static charge above the composite between the sapphire crystals, magnetising the movement. Titanium hands were substituted and retrofitted to delivered watches.
- Dial layoutSmall seconds at 6 o’clock, 30-minute chronograph totaliser at 9 o’clock, power reserve and torque sectors between 10 and 12.
- Function selectorCrown-centre pusher cycling winding, neutral and hand-setting, displayed at 3 o’clock.
