Overview
The Officer's-style Calatrava at 34.6 mm
The Patek Philippe Calatrava, reference 7200R-001, in rose gold with a silvery grained dial, rose gold Breguet numerals and pear-shaped hands, on a hand-stitched pearly beige alligator strap. Patek Philippe no longer lists this reference in its current collection. Ultra-thin self-winding calibre 240 in the Officer's-style case with straight lugs; 34.6 mm, 7.37 mm high.
The rose gold execution carries a silvery grained dial with Breguet numerals and pear-shaped hands in rose gold, on a hand-stitched pearly beige alligator strap with a rose gold prong buckle; Patek Philippe describes the Officer's-style case by its straight lugs. Patek Philippe no longer lists the reference in its current collection.
The reference 7200 is the Calatrava the brand presents as its ladies' model in an Officer's-style case: straight lugs, a case 34.6 mm across and 7.37 mm high, and a dial with nothing on it but hours and minutes, read through applied Breguet numerals and pear-shaped hands.
The movement is the self-winding calibre 240, which Patek Philippe describes as ultra-thin: 27.5 mm across and 2.53 mm high, with 152 parts and 27 jewels, wound by a 22K gold minirotor set off-centre and recessed into the movement rather than turning above it, which is what keeps the calibre at that height and the case at 7.37 mm. It runs at 21,600 semi-oscillations an hour on a Gyromax® balance with a Spiromax® balance spring, for a power reserve of at least 48 hours, and carries the Patek Philippe Seal. A sapphire crystal case back shows it; the case is water-resistant to 30 m.
For collectors
There is no seconds hand and no date: the calibre 240 here is the plain time-only version, and Patek Philippe ties the slender profile of the watch to the calibre's height rather than to the case design. The Officer's-style case is defined by Patek Philippe by its straight lugs.
