The black enamel Sky Moon Tourbillon
The Patek Philippe Sky Moon Tourbillon, reference 6002G-010, in white gold hand-engraved with volutes, with a black grand feu enamel dial. A double-face watch with 12 complications on the manually wound calibre R TO 27 QR SID LU CL; Patek Philippe replaced it in 2021 with the 6002R-001.
The reference 6002G-010 is the Sky Moon Tourbillon in white gold with a black grand feu enamel dial. Patek Philippe's June 2021 release sets out its place: the Ref. 5002 Sky Moon Tourbillon of 2001, then a rare handcrafts version in white gold with a blue enamel dial from 2013 to 2016 (6002G-001), followed in 2016 by this black-dial version. The brand's instructions for the reference describe a white gold case hand-engraved throughout with volutes and a black dial with cloisonné and champlevé enamel motifs. In 2021 Patek Philippe replaced it with the 6002R-001 in rose gold.
It is a double-face watch with 12 complications, driven by the manually wound calibre R TO 27 QR SID LU CL, which Patek Philippe describes as largely identical to the movement of the Ref. 5002. The front dial shows the time and a perpetual calendar with a retrograde date hand, day, month, leap-year cycle and moon phases. The back shows the northern sky, sidereal time and the angular progression and phases of the moon. A minute repeater strikes on two cathedral gongs, and the escapement is a tourbillon turning once a minute. The calibre measures 38 mm overall and 12.61 mm high, with 705 parts, 55 jewels and 24 bridges.
For collectors
Patek Philippe's own sequence makes this the second white gold 6002: it followed the blue enamel 6002G-001 in 2016 and was replaced in 2021 by the hand-engraved rose gold 6002R-001 with a brown enamel dial.

Design and engineering
- Two facesFront: mean solar time and the perpetual calendar, with a retrograde date hand. Back: the sky chart, sidereal time and the moon's angular progression and phases. The crown at 4 o'clock winds the watch and sets the time; a second crown at 8 o'clock on the sky side corrects the sky chart and sidereal time one way and the moon the other.
- Cathedral gongsThe repeater sounds the hours on the low-pitched gong, the quarters as double strikes on both gongs and the minutes on the high-pitched gong: 32 strikes at 12:59. Patek Philippe developed a new alloy for the gongs, which are nearly twice as long as conventional ones and wrap around the movement for one and three-quarter turns while hanging free.
- Dynamometric crownA patented crown that protects the winding mechanism once the mainspring is fully tensioned; a run of soft clicks tells the wearer to stop winding.
- Engraved case, enamel dialPatek Philippe's instructions present the 6002 as a showcase for the engraver and the enameller: the white gold case is engraved by hand with volutes and the black dial carries cloisonné and champlevé enamel motifs.
- WaterThe slot for the repeater slide leaves the case unprotected against moisture; Patek Philippe advises keeping liquid away from the watch.
