Overview
The monocounter chronograph, set
The Patek Philippe Nautilus Haute Joaillerie, reference 5980/1400R-011, in rose gold set with 191 baguette-cut and 893 brilliant-cut diamonds, on the set rose gold bracelet; sunburst charcoal grey dial with a black-gradient rim. Self-winding calibre CH 28-520 C flyback chronograph with monocounter and date; 40.5 mm from 10 to 4 o'clock, 12.2 mm high.
The rose gold execution is set with 191 baguette-cut diamonds (15.64 cts) and 893 brilliant-cut diamonds (4.44 cts), with rose gold hour markers under the 9 baguettes and rose gold rounded baton-style hands. Case, bracelet and clasp are rose gold, the clasp set with diamonds.
The reference 5980/1400 is the Nautilus flyback chronograph in Haute Joaillerie: case, bezel, hour markers and bracelet set with 191 baguette-cut diamonds (15.64 cts) and 893 brilliant-cut diamonds (4.44 cts). The dial is sunburst charcoal grey with a black-gradient rim, horizontally embossed, and keeps the reference's single monocounter for the chronograph's minutes and hours. The case is 40.5 mm from 10 to 4 o'clock and 12.2 mm high, with a screw-down crown and a sapphire crystal back.
The self-winding calibre CH 28-520 C is the flyback chronograph with date: 30 mm across, 6.63 mm high, 327 parts, 35 jewels, wound by a 21K gold central rotor. Patek Philippe names its vertical clutch; flyback means a running chronograph is reset and restarted with one press. The 60-minute and 12-hour registers share one counter, the date sits in an aperture. It runs at 28,800 semi-oscillations an hour on a Gyromax® balance with a Spiromax® balance spring, for 45 to 55 hours of power reserve, and carries the Patek Philippe Seal.
For collectors
Patek Philippe counts the setting by component — 100 brilliants on the case (0.76 ct), 32 baguettes on the bezel (5.9 cts), 9 baguette hour markers (0.18 ct), 793 brilliants and 150 baguettes on the bracelet — and 9 markers rather than 12 is the tell that the monocounter and the date aperture take three positions on this dial.
