The Patek Philippe Complications 24-hour Display, Travel Time, reference 5224R-001, in rose gold with curved two-tier lugs and a blue dial with rose gold numerals and cabochons, on a navy blue nubuck calfskin strap. Self-winding calibre 31-260 PS FUS 24H with local and home time read on a 24-hour display; 42 mm, 9.85 mm high.
The reference 5224R-001 is Patek Philippe's Travel Time Calatrava with a 24-hour display, in the Complications collection: a self-winding travel watch for daily wear whose hour hands go round the dial once a day rather than twice. The case is rose gold, 42 mm across and 9.85 mm high, fully polished with curved two-tier lugs, a case Patek Philippe says takes its inspiration from the reference 5212. The dial is blue with a circular striated centre and a circular satin-finished hour circle, a snailed small-seconds counter with a rose-gilt outline, and applied numerals, hour markers and cabochons in rose gold filled with white luminescent coating, on a navy blue nubuck calfskin strap with cream hand-stitching and a rose gold prong buckle.
The calibre 31-260 PS FUS 24H is self-winding, wound by a platinum off-centre minirotor, and lays out its Travel Time on a 24-hour scale: a solid syringe-shaped hand with luminescent coating for local time and a skeletonised one for home time, both in rose gold, with small seconds. The movement measures 31.74 mm across and 3.7 mm high, with 240 parts and 44 jewels, runs at 28,800 semi-oscillations an hour on a Gyromax® balance with a Spiromax® balance spring, has a power reserve of at least 48 hours, and carries the Patek Philippe Seal, visible through the sapphire crystal case back.
