The reference 5160/500R-001 is a Rare Handcrafts execution of Patek Philippe's officer's-style perpetual calendar with retrograde date hand, in rose gold, with the case engraved by hand. Patek Philippe describes the officer's-style calendars — straight lugs, a sapphire case back protected by a hinged cover — as among the most sought-after models for devotees of rare timepieces, its own characterisation, and singles out this one for its engraving: case, bezel, lugs, hinged dust cover, crown and strap screws are all engraved by hand, in a pattern the brand says was inspired by a pocket watch in the Patek Philippe Museum. The case measures 38 mm across and 11.81 mm high.
The calibre 26-330 S QR is the retrograde-date version of the brand's self-winding calendar movement: the date is shown by a hand that returns to its start rather than continuing round the dial, while the day, month and leap year sit in apertures and the moon phases in their own display, with sweep seconds from the centre. It winds through a 21K gold central rotor and measures 28 mm across and 5.36 mm high, with 368 parts and 31 jewels; it runs at 28,800 semi-oscillations an hour on a Gyromax® balance with a Spiromax® balance spring, for a power reserve of 35 to 45 hours, and carries the Patek Philippe Seal.
