The reference 4948G-010 is the Joaillerie execution in white gold, which Patek Philippe presents as a ladies' version: bezel, caseband, lugs and crown set with diamonds — 347 on the case and lugs (2.79 cts), 14 on the crown (0.06 ct), 27 on the buckle (0.22 ct), 388 in all (3.07 cts) — with a white Balinese mother-of-pearl dial, charcoal grey white gold applied numerals and white gold leaf-shaped hands with white luminescent coating, on a shiny light grey alligator strap with a diamond-set white gold prong buckle. Patek Philippe no longer lists the reference in its current collection.
The reference 4948G-010 is one of a group of Patek Philippe Annual Calendars with moon phases built on the same movement and the same 38 mm case, 11 mm high, which the brand presents as a size to suit all wrists. The calendar here reads differently from the brand's aperture layouts: day and month are shown by hands, with the date and the moon phases in apertures. All have leaf-shaped hands with white luminescent coating.
The self-winding calibre 26-330 S QA LU carries the brand's Annual Calendar mechanism, which Patek Philippe says it invented and patented, and which needs one correction a year: the day and month hands and the date aperture advance on their own for the rest of it. The moon phases sit in an aperture with the date, and the seconds sweep from the centre. The movement measures 32 mm across and 5.32 mm high, with 319 parts and 34 jewels, winds through a 21K gold central rotor, runs at 28,800 semi-oscillations an hour on a Gyromax® balance with a Spiromax® balance spring, has a power reserve of 35 to 45 hours, and carries the Patek Philippe Seal, which the sapphire crystal case back is there to show.
