Time told by two floating triangles
The Jacob & Co. Brilliant Mystery, reference BM555.40.BD.BD.B, in an 18-carat rose gold case, 44 mm across and 10.15 mm high. Its dial of 18-carat rose gold and sapphire discs is set with 91 baguette white diamonds, on a white satin strap with an 18-carat rose gold pin buckle. This version is limited to 18 pieces.
Jacob & Co. introduced the Brilliant collection of ladies’ watches in 2017: round, without lugs, with the strap attached directly to the case. Brilliant Mystery adds a mystery-clock display, which Jacob & Co. describes as a tribute to the mystery clocks of Jean-Eugène Robert-Houdin.
A ring-shaped case surrounds a central island, and the quartz movement inside it drives two stacked sapphire discs, one for the hours and one for the minutes. The discs are transparent and fill the space between island and case. A black triangle is printed on each, so the triangles appear to float.
