A hundredth of a second, by hand
The F.P. Journe Centigraphe, reference CT2, in 18K 6N gold on the matching bracelet, matte hammered, with the ruthenium-covered guilloché silver dial, 5N gold numerals and whitened silver counters. 44 mm and 11 mm high, hand-wound calibre 1506 in 18K rose gold, timing to a hundredth of a second.
The Centigraphe measures elapsed time from a hundredth of a second to 10 minutes on three dials, each scaled in black and red. This 44 mm lineSport execution, 11 mm high with a ceramic-inlaid bezel, was produced between 2018 and 2024 in F.P. Journe's account, and houses the hand-wound calibre 1506 in 18K rose gold. The brand gives 30% of the profits from each Centigraphe to the ICM, the brain and spinal cord institute in Paris, with no time limit.
Calibre 1506 keeps the chronograph's power apart from the timekeeping. The hundredth and 20-second hands run on two trains of their own, driven from the centre of the mainspring, and another train from the barrel arbor drives the 10-minute hand; F.P. Journe patented the arrangement and says the balance amplitude is unaffected while the chronograph runs. The hundredth hand is released by a wheel on the escape wheel and goes once round its dial at 10 o'clock every second. A maintaining-power system keeps the drive from dropping during winding.
For collectors
The hundredth hand can be stopped anywhere in its one-second circuit, even between two divisions, because its pinion is lifted vertically out of mesh with the escapement's and braked on its pivot shank. A reading between two hundredths is therefore a real fraction, not a hand resting on the nearest mark.

Design and engineering
- Rocker controlStart, stop and zero are worked by a rocker in the case band at 2 o'clock rather than by buttons either side of the crown. The design is patented.
- Separate chronograph trainsDriven from the mainspring's centre and the barrel arbor, not from the going train, so the balance keeps its amplitude with the chronograph running. This is the second patent.
- Return to zeroHammers acting on snail cams zero the 20-second and 10-minute arbors. The hundredth hand is stopped at zero by a beak on its pinion pressing a lever, which blocks the chronograph train.
- Maintaining powerThe barrel keeps driving the movement while it is wound. The reserve is 80 ± 2 hours with the chronograph stopped and 24 ± 2 hours with it running.
- Case and dial18K 6N gold with a matte hammered finish on case and bracelet; articulated links and a clasp adjustable by about 5 mm. Ruthenium-covered guilloché silver dial, 5N gold numerals, counters in whitened guilloché silver.
