The Octa in aluminium
The F.P. Journe Automatique Réserve, reference ARS2, in titanium on the titanium bracelet, both with rubber inserts, with the slate grey aluminium alloy dial and luminescent numerals. 44 mm and 11 mm high, self-winding on calibre 1300.3 in aluminium alloy, with a very large date and a 160-hour reserve.
This is the titanium Automatique Réserve of the lineSport collection, which F.P. Journe says was produced between 2018 and 2019. The case is 44 mm and 11 mm high with a ceramic-inlaid bezel, and the brand gives the weight of the whole watch as around 83 grams. The movement changes with the case: the self-winding Octa calibre 1300.3 is made here in aluminium alloy, and the dial is aluminium alloy too.
The architecture is the Octa's. Journe extended the reserve with a longer mainspring rather than an extra wheel in the train, which in his account would leave too little energy at the balance, and the long spring's low torque is what he says allows fast automatic winding. The off-centre rotor, in titanium with a tungsten segment, winds in one direction. The free-sprung balance has four adjustable inertia weights and beats at 21,600 vibrations an hour. The reserve of 160 ± 10 hours is read at 10:30, day and night at 9 o'clock, and the date at 1 o'clock.
For collectors
Light materials run from the outside in: titanium for case and bracelet, aluminium alloy for the dial and for the movement itself, white sapphire for the seconds counter. The weight of around 83 grams is the result of all of them, not of the case alone.

- Very large dateAt 1 o'clock in a window of 4.7 × 2.6 mm, corrected anti-clockwise in crown position 1; the time is set in position 2.
- DialAluminium alloy in yellow or slate grey, with applied luminescent indexes and numerals, luminescent steel hour and minute hands, small hands in ivory steel and red lacquered titanium, and the seconds counter in white sapphire.
