Ten boutiques, ten watches
The F.P. Journe 10 Years Anniversary Tourbillon, reference T10, in platinum on a leather strap, with a grained silver dial and blackened engraved silver hour ring. 40 mm and 9.5 mm high, manually wound calibre 1412 in 18K rose gold, with off-centre hours and minutes and small seconds at 6.
F.P. Journe made this tourbillon in 2014 in a series numbered 1 to 10, to mark two boutique events together: ten years of the first F.P. Journe Boutique, in Tokyo, and the opening of the tenth, in Beirut. The ten watches were not sold in the ordinary way. Each boutique put forward candidates from among its collectors, and the names were drawn at the brand's annual fair in January 2014.
The movement repeats the construction of the original Tourbillon of 1983, made here in 18K rose gold and shown through a sapphire case back. Calibre 1412 is manually wound, with two mainspring barrels working in parallel, a free-sprung balance regulated by four inertia weights on a flat Anachron spring, and a lever escapement with a 15-tooth escape wheel. Hours and minutes are read off-centre at 12, with small seconds at 6.
For collectors
F.P. Journe changed the material of the 1983 construction, not its layout: the calibre is the original tourbillon made in rose gold. The dial is the other point of distinction; the brand describes this grained silver dial with a blackened hour ring as rarer than the dial of the Black Label edition reserved to its boutiques.

- Free-sprung balanceThere is no regulator index. The rate is set by four inertia weights on the balance, leaving the flat Anachron spring undisturbed. Amplitude is given as 320° dial-up at full wind and 260° after 24 hours.
