he Overseas 4520V is the steel self-winding Overseas Vacheron Constantin lists today, and the 4500V is the reference that launched in 2016, when the collection was reinvented. Both are 41 mm, both run the calibre 5100, and both are rated to 150 m. [1][2][3]
Want a silver dial on a 41 mm steel Overseas? Only the 4500V has one. [4][3] Want the current reference, with Vacheron Constantin’s published specification? Choose the 4520V. [1] Buying a particular blue or black piece? Read the four digits before the slash, then the purchase date, because Vacheron Constantin’s 6-year warranty extension, for 8 years in all, is open only in the first 2 years. [5]
The two references share the case size, the calibre 5100 and the blue and black dial suffixes, and Phillips lists no 4520V sale. [1][2][7][8][6]
Key takeaways
Who this is for
This guide is for:
- A buyer choosing between the 4500V and the 4520V in steel with a blue or black dial.
- A buyer who wants a particular dial and needs to know which reference carries it.
- A buyer testing a quoted figure against completed auction sales, converted to Australian dollars.
- An owner of a 4500V weighing what the current reference adds.
It does not replace an inspection of the watch and its papers.
How this guide was prepared
Specifications, warranty, service and heritage terms and the Australian boutique list come from Vacheron Constantin’s own pages and its current service price list, read on 15 October 2026. Launch prices come from dated Monochrome reports, named in the text. Completed sales come from Phillips’ own lot pages and its search, and the black 4500V from a Sotheby’s lot page. Every Australian-dollar figure is converted at the Reserve Bank’s 8 October 2026 rate, and the import position comes from the Australian Border Force.
The 4500V and the 4520V, side by side
On paper, only the case height differs: 10.69 mm in Vacheron Constantin’s figure for the 4520V, and 11 mm in Monochrome’s 2016 launch report for the 4500V. [1][2]
Vacheron Constantin gives the 4520V/210A-B128 a 41 mm steel case 10.69 mm high, rated to 15 bar, with a transparent sapphire crystal caseback and an ‘Antimagnetic’ marking. [1] Inside is the self-winding calibre 5100: 30.6 mm across, 4.7 mm thick, 172 parts, 37 jewels, a 60-hour power reserve and 28,800 vibrations per hour. [1] The watch carries the Hallmark of Geneva. [1] Its oscillating weight is 22K gold, ‘inspired by the wind rose’. [1] The Maltese cross appears in the bezel and the steel bracelet, and the watch takes three easily interchangeable straps: steel, leather and rubber. [1]
Monochrome reported the 4500V’s introduction on 19 January 2016 with the same 41 mm diameter, 150 m rating and calibre 5100. [2] Its report described a soft iron ring in the case for antimagnetic protection, and a 22K gold oscillating weight decorated with a compass rose behind a sapphire caseback. [2] Phillips credits the 2016 redesign to Vincent Kaufmann. [4]
The blue dials are described in similar terms. The 4520V page describes a sunburst satin-finished lacquered dial with a satin-finished internal minutes track and a velvet-finished external one. [1] Monochrome described the 2016 dial the same way, with a sunburst centre, a velvet-finished flange and applied 18K white gold baton indexes. [2] On the 4520V, Vacheron Constantin specifies 18K gold applied hands and hour-markers ‘highlighted with blue SuperLuminova’. [1]

Eden’s insight: 4500V or 4520V?
HYPA sells the Overseas 4520V; this is my own view.
What tells a 4500V and a 4520V apart in the hand?
Very little. Both are 41 mm, run the calibre 5100 with 60 hours of power reserve, and are rated to 150 m; the blue and black dials even share the same codes, B128 and B483. [1][2][7][8][9] I go by the reference on the papers: the four digits before the slash give the generation.
Who should look for the silver dial?
Vacheron Constantin lists the steel 4520V only in blue and black, so a silver-dial 41 mm steel Overseas is a 4500V/110A-B126. [3][4] Anyone who wants that dial is buying the older reference.
How would you choose between a 4520V and an unworn 4500V?
The 4520V is the current reference, with its full specification on Vacheron Constantin’s own site. With either one, I look at the purchase date first. Vacheron Constantin offers its 6-year extension, for 8 years in all, only to watches still inside the first 2 years of the original International Limited Warranty. [1][5]
What should a buyer check on the bracelet and straps?
The Overseas comes with a steel bracelet plus leather and rubber straps, which Vacheron Constantin calls easily interchangeable. Check which of the three come with the watch. [1]
The dials each reference came with
Monochrome’s launch report listed three versions of the 4500V: steel with a silver-toned dial, steel with a blue dial, and the 4500V/000R-B127 in pink gold with a silver-toned dial on a brown alligator strap. [2] In September 2020 Monochrome reported a full pink gold 4500V/110R-B705, with a blue dial on a solid gold bracelet. [13]
The steel 4500V’s blue dial carries the suffix /110A-B128, and its black dial /110A-B483. [7][9] Phillips has sold several B128 pieces, and Sotheby’s offered a B483 of circa 2021 in its September 2023 Fine Watches sale. [7][9]
Those are the suffixes the 4520V carries today. Vacheron Constantin lists the steel 4520V/210A-B128 in blue and the 4520V/210A-B483 in black, and the pink gold 4520V/210R-B705 on its Australian site. [1][8][14] In April 2024 a green-dial pink gold 4520V/210R-B967 joined them in the permanent collection. [15]
Same suffix, different generation: the four digits before the slash say which Overseas it is.
One dial did not carry over. Phillips describes the steel 4500V/110A-B126 as having ‘a classic silver dial with a date window at 3 o’clock’. [4] The 41 mm steel 4520V references on Vacheron Constantin’s Overseas listing are the blue B128 and the black B483, so a silver-dial 41 mm steel Overseas is a 4500V. [3]
Launch prices in euros, converted to Australian dollars
Vacheron Constantin shows ‘Price on request’ on its Australian 4520V pages, in place of a figure. [1][8] The dated figures for the 4500V come from Monochrome. These are European prices, not Australian retail.
On 19 January 2016 Monochrome put the steel version at EUR 21,700 and the pink gold 4500V/000R-B127 on a strap at EUR 38,600. [2] Converted, those are about A$34,955 and A$62,178. [16]
On 9 September 2020 the same publication gave EUR 49,800 for the full pink gold 4500V/110R-B705 on its gold bracelet, about A$80,219. [13][16] That is a different configuration from the 2016 pink gold watch, so the two pink gold prices are not a before and after.
Phillips results for the 4500V, July 2022 to September 2026
Phillips’ own search lists seven 4500V lots, all sold. [10] Each figure below is the lot page’s ‘Sold For’ price, converted at the Reserve Bank’s 8 October 2026 rate. [16]
Steel, in order of sale:
- In July 2022, Hong Kong: Watches Online Auction I, lot 814, an unworn steel blue 4500V/110A-B128 of circa 2022, made as a boutique edition, sold for HK$252,000, about A$46,163. [7]
- In May 2024, The Hong Kong Watch Auction: XVIII, lot 812, a steel blue 4500V/110A-B128 of circa 2018 sold for HK$165,100, about A$30,244. [12]
- In November 2024, The Hong Kong Watch Auction: XIX, lot 926, a steel silver-dial 4500V/110A-B126 of circa 2022 sold for HK$139,700, about A$25,591. [4]
- In June 2026, The New York Watch Auction: XIV, lot 136, an unworn steel blue 4500V/110A-B128 of 2022 sold for US$33,020, about A$47,470. [11]
Pink gold:
- In September 2023, The Geneva Sessions Fall 2023, lot 53, a pink gold 4500V/110R-B705 of 2022 sold for CHF 57,150, about A$98,637. [17]
- In December 2024, The New York Watch Auction: XI, lot 5, a pink gold 4500V/110R-B705 of 2022, described as a ‘boutique exclusive’, sold for US$53,340, about A$76,682. [18]
The seventh lot is a limited edition and sits apart. In September 2026, at The Geneva Sessions, Fall 2026, lot 16 was a steel 4500V/110A-B563 of 2018. It was number 12 of a 38-piece limited edition created for the Zürich boutique, and sold for CHF 33,020, about A$56,990. [19]
Set beside the 2016 steel launch price of EUR 21,700, about A$34,955, the two unworn blue B128s from about 2022 sold above it. The circa-2018 B128 and the silver-dial B126 sold below it. [2][4][7][11][12] These sales were in different currencies and years, and all are converted at the one 2026 rate. Phillips’ search lists no 4520V lot. [6]
Choosing between them
Three checks, in this order.
Read the whole reference
B128 and B483 appear on both generations, so the suffix gives the metal and dial and the four digits before the slash give the generation. [7][1]
Check the specification against its source
For a 4520V, every figure is on Vacheron Constantin’s own page. For a 4500V, check the figures against the papers and Monochrome’s 2016 launch report. [1][2]
Ask for the service estimate
Vacheron Constantin’s service price list, set out in the service section below, is for information; ask for the tailored estimate before work begins. [20][21]
The warranty and the digital passport
Vacheron Constantin states that a watch ‘is under warranty for a period of 2 years from the date of purchase’. [5] ‘All master line’ watches still inside that first 2-year period under the original International Limited Warranty can take a 6-year extension, for 8 years in total. [5]
In Australia, ‘subject to your Mandatory Statutory Rights under the Australian Consumer Law, Vacheron Constantin will remedy these identified defects free of charge for up to 24 months from the date of purchase’. Claims go to ‘the Vacheron Constantin dealer indicated on your warranty certificate’. [5]
The digital passport, introduced in 2019, holds a watch’s ownership history and its technical user guide. Vacheron Constantin says it ‘can be easily transferred to subsequent owners’. [5]
Servicing an Overseas, and what it costs
In a complete service the watch is ‘completely disassembled, inspected, cleaned and repaired if necessary’. [21] Vacheron Constantin puts a modern watch at ‘approximately 4 to 6 weeks once the cost estimate has been accepted’, and offers a price simulator and a tailored estimate. [21]
Its current service price list gives CHF 810 for a complete service of a modern manual or automatic simple movement, about A$1,398. [20][16] That row covers hours, minutes and seconds, with or without a date, except extra-flat and very small models. [20] The calibre 5100’s hours, minutes, central seconds and date fit it. [20][1] The list says its prices are ‘for Switzerland registered services, including Swiss VAT’, and calls them ‘non-contractual’. [20]
A complete service carries its own cover: Vacheron Constantin protects it with ‘a 2-years service warranty’ on the work and the parts replaced. [5] Its boutiques and authorised retailers can arrange the service, and it lists boutiques in Sydney, Melbourne and Perth. [21][22]
For a watch’s history, the Heritage Department issues an Extract from the Archives, recording the calibre, the case and movement numbers, the dial and strap, and the dates of manufacture and sale. Its Document for Insurance Purposes gives the ‘current last recorded retail list price’ from the case and movement numbers. [23]
Bringing one into Australia
Buying overseas adds tax. The Australian Border Force states: ‘You must pay 10 per cent of the value of the taxable importation (VoTI)’. [24] That value is the customs value, plus international transport and insurance, plus any customs duty payable. [24] Our guide to buying a Richard Mille overseas versus in Australia sets out the full costs, and they work the same way for an Overseas.
Buying an Overseas through HYPA
HYPA International is an independent, registered Victorian second-hand dealer, Registration No. SHD-0018017, in Melbourne, and is not affiliated with, endorsed by or an authorised retailer of any manufacturer named on this website. [25] Every watch is inspected by an expert watchmaker and authenticated before it is sold, and anything we find is disclosed to you before the watch ships. [26] Prices are in Australian dollars and include GST unless stated otherwise. Payment is by bank transfer only. [25]
HYPA lists the steel 4520V/210A-B128 with the blue dial in its Vacheron Constantin collection. The HYPA terms page sets out delivery, payment and returns in full, and what you receive when you buy from HYPA lists what arrives with the watch.
Common mistakes
The 4500V/110A-B563 was one of 38 pieces made for the Zürich boutique. [19]
Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between the Vacheron Constantin 4500V and 4520V?
On the published specifications, very little. Both Overseas references are 41 mm self-winding watches on the calibre 5100, rated to 150 m, with a 60-hour power reserve. [1][2] Both came in steel with the blue B128 and black B483 dial suffixes. [1][7][8][9] The 4520V is the reference Vacheron Constantin lists today, with every figure on its own page. [3]
What did the Vacheron Constantin Overseas 4500V cost new?
Vacheron Constantin no longer lists the 4500V and shows ‘Price on request’ for the 4520V, so the dated prices come from Monochrome. [1][3] On 19 January 2016 it gave EUR 21,700 for the steel 4500V, about A$34,955, and EUR 38,600 for the pink gold 4500V/000R-B127 on a strap, about A$62,178. [2][16] On 9 September 2020 it gave EUR 49,800 for the full pink gold 4500V/110R-B705, about A$80,219. [13] All three are converted at the Reserve Bank’s 8 October 2026 rate.
What is a Vacheron Constantin Overseas 4500V worth now?
At Phillips, standard steel 4500V pieces sold for about A$25,591 to A$47,470 between July 2022 and June 2026. The highest was an unworn steel blue 4500V/110A-B128 of 2022, sold in June 2026 for US$33,020. [10][11] Pink gold 4500V/110R-B705 pieces sold for about A$76,682 and A$98,637. [18][17] These are completed sales, converted at the Reserve Bank’s 8 October 2026 rate, before Australian import GST. [16]
Does the Vacheron Constantin 4520V come with a silver dial?
Not on Vacheron Constantin’s current listing. It lists the 41 mm steel 4520V as the 4520V/210A-B128 with a blue dial and the 4520V/210A-B483 with a black dial. [3][1][8] The silver dial on a 41 mm steel Overseas belongs to the 4500V/110A-B126, which Phillips describes as having ‘a classic silver dial with a date window at 3 o’clock’. [4] A buyer who wants that dial is looking for a 4500V.
How long is the warranty on a Vacheron Constantin Overseas?
Two years from the date of purchase. Vacheron Constantin offers ‘All master line’ watches still inside that first 2-year period, under the original International Limited Warranty, a 6-year extension, for 8 years in total. On a 4500V or a 4520V, the purchase date on the papers shows whether that window is still open. [5]
What does it cost to service a Vacheron Constantin Overseas?
Vacheron Constantin’s current service price list gives CHF 810 for a complete service of a modern manual or automatic simple movement, the row that fits the Overseas calibre 5100. That is about A$1,398 at the Reserve Bank’s 8 October 2026 rate. [20][16] The work takes about 4 to 6 weeks once the cost estimate is accepted. [21]
