The Vacheron Constantin Métiers d'Art piece Year of the Snake, reference 86073/000R-H034, in 18K pink gold with the same hand-engraved and enamelled snake dial, on a brown alligator strap. Self-winding calibre 2460 G4/3, hours, minutes, day and date by aperture; 40 mm, 12.72 mm high.
This execution is the same Year of the Snake case, dial and calibre 2460 G4/3 movement as the platinum reference, in 18K pink gold. The strap changes from dark blue to brown alligator leather, and the triple folding clasp is 18K pink gold rather than platinum.
The reference 86073 also appears as Vacheron Constantin's Métiers d'Art piece The Legend of the Chinese Zodiac - Year of the Snake, on the same case, dial and calibre in two metals: platinum with a dark blue alligator strap, and pink gold with a brown strap. An 18K gold snake is raised in hand-engraved relief beside a rocky base on both executions, set against a background of opaque miniature enamel; the brand's own account reads the snake in Chinese culture as a gift carrying mystery and wisdom. Each case is 40 mm across and 12.72 mm high, with a transparent sapphire case back, water-resistant to 30 m, and each is part of a limited run the brand attributes to its own engravers and enamellers.
