Overview
The skeleton tourbillon, cut in NAC-treated grey
The Vacheron Constantin Overseas Tourbillon Skeleton, reference 6000V/210T-B935, in grade 5 titanium with a sapphire dial and blue accents, on the titanium bracelet with its triple folding clasp. Self-winding calibre 2160 SQ, NAC-treated and skeletonised, with tourbillon and small seconds; 42.5 mm, 10.39 mm high.
The reference 6000V/210T is Vacheron Constantin's Overseas Tourbillon Skeleton, built on an openworked version of calibre 2160 in grade 5 titanium and, on a second execution, in 18K pink gold. The case is 42.5 mm across and 10.39 mm high, water-resistant to 50 m, with an antimagnetic marking on the case back. The dial itself is sapphire crystal, with a blue velvet-finished outer minute track and small seconds set on the tourbillon carriage; the hour-markers and hands are 18K gold, picked out in blue SuperLuminova®.
The movement is calibre 2160 SQ -- the skeleton form of the solid-bridge calibre 2160 -- given an NAC treatment the brand describes as giving it an anthracite grey hue, and built with 186 parts and 30 jewels, fewer than the solid-bridge version's own part count. A transparent sapphire case back shows it in full, wound by a peripheral weight in 18K gold. It runs at 18,000 V.P.H. (2.5 Hz) for a power reserve the brand states as more than 3 days, 80 hours on the Caliber tab, and is certified to the Hallmark of Geneva. Each execution comes on a bracelet in its own case metal, closed by a matching triple folding clasp, with two further straps and a spare clasp or buckle supplied, as each record's own Additional Accessories row lists them.
For collectors
The skeleton calibre 2160 SQ trims a few parts from the solid calibre 2160 while keeping the same jewel count, dimensions, frequency and stated power reserve -- worth noting for a buyer comparing the two tourbillon lines side by side.
