Green Gambit: a unique piece from Richard Mille’s RM HJ-02 high jewellery tourbillons
Green Gambit is the green universe of the RM HJ-02. The case is set in greens and blues with white baguettes, inlaid in turquoise blue, cream and deep green, with a ring of green stones around the tourbillon at 6 o’clock. The crown is set with baguettes and a blue cone, and the strap is turquoise green.
The RM HJ-02 is the second chapter of Richard Mille’s high jewellery saga: 12 unique timepieces in four chromatic universes, pink, violet, blue and green, made to celebrate 20 years of design for women. Snow, grain and bezel setting place 1,399 precious and ornamental stones on each watch, and nearly 700 hours are devoted to each one. The Art Deco tonneau, broken into sharp transitions and layered planes, took more than a year to develop.

Design and engineering
- Gem-setting on every surfaceGem-setting covers the case, the buckle and the movement itself. Across the collection, rubies, sapphires, diamonds, emeralds and Paraíba tourmalines meet malachite, chrysoprase, turquoise and mother-of-pearl.
- Art Deco tonneauThe case no longer follows a single curve but is broken into sharp transitions, layered planes and asymmetrical interruptions. It took more than a year to develop, within a total development time of over three years.
- White gold calibreBaseplate and bridges machined from 18K white gold, microblasted and bevelled by hand. The movement was developed alongside the case and dial so that the mechanical and jewellery elements could be integrated from the outset.
- Gem-set rotorMade of gem-set gold, with a One-Way® reverser system mounted on ceramic ball bearings.
- Fast-rotating barrelOne revolution every five hours instead of seven and a half.
