Overview
South African colours in Quartz TPT® and Carbon TPT®
The photograph shows the RM 67-02 in green and yellow, with bridges hand-painted in the colours of the South African flag — green, yellow, red, blue, black and white — on a green textile strap. That identifies the execution made for the sprinter Wayde van Niekerk, the first RM 67-02, introduced in 2017.
The card’s material line reads "Carbon". The green and yellow stratifications of the case cannot be Carbon TPT®, which is made from divided carbon fibre and is black or grey; coloured TPT is Quartz TPT®, made by the same process from silica threads. The documented construction combines Quartz TPT® in green and yellow with Carbon TPT®. The material field records both.
The RM 67-02 was designed to be worn in competition, and Richard Mille produced it in the national colours of several of its partner athletes.

Design and engineering
- Calibre CRMA7Skeletonised automatic winding movement with hours and minutes, on 25 jewels at 28,800 vph (4 Hz), with around 50 hours (± 10%) of power reserve.
- Baseplate and bridgesGrade 5 titanium. The baseplate carries a black DLC treatment, which Richard Mille specifies for rigidity and for the surface flatness the gear train requires; the bridges carry a grey DLC treatment and are satin-finished, microblasted and bevelled by hand.
- Titanium dialMachined from a sheet of titanium four tenths of a millimetre thick, treated with a black DLC coating and then hand-painted in the colours of the partner athlete’s flag.
- RotorCarbon TPT® and white gold, on the OneWay® winding system with ceramic ball bearings, which allows the barrel to be wound efficiently in an extra-flat calibre.
- Quartz TPT® and Carbon TPT®Quartz TPT® is produced from silica threads divided into layers no thicker than 45 microns; Carbon TPT® from filaments divided out of carbon fibre, in layers a maximum of 30 microns thick. Both are saturated in resins developed for Richard Mille, stacked with the fibre orientation rotated by 45° between plies, cured at 120°C under 6 bar and CNC-machined at the brand’s own facilities. Silica takes colour in a way carbon does not.
- Case assemblyWater-resistant to 30 m via two nitrile O-ring seals, assembled with 12 grade 5 titanium spline screws and 316L stainless steel washers.
- Comfort strapEntirely seamless, non-slip and highly elastic, developed so that the watch follows the contours of the individual wrist. The complete watch weighs 32 grams with the strap.
