Overview
Carbon NTPT® case with tourbillon chronograph and mechanical G-force sensor
Introduced in 2014, the RM 50-01 was developed with Formula 1 driver Romain Grosjean and the Lotus F1 Team. Its manually wound RM50-01 calibre combines a tourbillon, chronograph and mechanical G-force sensor with a function indicator showing the selected winding, neutral or hand-setting position.
The pictured configuration uses Carbon NTPT® for the bezel, caseband and caseback. The skeletonised movement is constructed around a grade 5 titanium baseplate and incorporates more than 500 components. The RM 50-01 was produced in an edition of 30 pieces across its documented case configurations.

Design and engineering
- Mechanical G-force sensorThe mechanical G-force sensor measures forces generated during rapid acceleration and deceleration. Its display beneath 12 o’clock uses coloured sectors to indicate the measured load.
- Tourbillon chronograph calibreCalibre RM50-01 combines a tourbillon with a chronograph displaying central chronograph seconds and elapsed minutes on a 30-minute totaliser.
- Function indicatorA dedicated indicator displays the position of the crown mechanism as W for winding, N for neutral and H for hand setting.
- Grade 5 titanium movement structureThe skeletonised baseplate and principal movement bridges are produced from grade 5 titanium, providing structural support for the tourbillon, chronograph and G-force mechanisms.
- Carbon NTPT® caseThe case uses Carbon NTPT®, a layered carbon composite formed from thin carbon-filament sheets positioned at alternating orientations before compression and curing.
- Fast-rotating barrelThe mainspring barrel completes one revolution every six hours and is combined with a progressive-recoil barrel pawl and involute-profile gearing.
