Overview
Green Quartz TPT® caseband between grade 5 titanium bezels
Richard Mille has produced a timepiece for each edition of the Le Mans Classic since 2008. The RM 30-01 Le Mans Classic marks the twelfth edition of the event, held on the Sarthe circuit from 3 to 6 July 2025, and is limited to 150 pieces. The tripartite case places a Green Quartz TPT® caseband between front and back bezels in grade 5 titanium.
The calibre RMAR2 was modified for this edition to carry a 24-hour counter at 2 o’clock, driven by the hour wheel, with the numeral 16 shaded green in reference to the race’s 16:00 start. A chequered-flag motif frames the oversize date aperture, the Le Mans Classic logo is applied to the sapphire caseback, and the watch is fitted to a vented green rubber strap with a grade 5 titanium folding clasp.
Key details
Design and engineering
- 24-hour counterPlaced at 2 o’clock and driven by the hour wheel; the 16 numeral is shaded green.
- Green Quartz TPT® casebandQuartz TPT® is a composite of layered silica filaments impregnated with resin; the caseband is machined from cured blocks, so the striation pattern differs between cases.
- Declutchable variable-geometry rotorDeclutches at 55 hours of reserve and re-clutches at 40 hours; the clutch engagement indicator reports the state.
- Oversize date with chequered-flag frameSemi-instantaneous, in a horizontal aperture at 4 o’clock.
- Case constructionTripartite, water resistant to 50 metres by three Nitrile O-ring seals, assembled with 20 grade 5 titanium spline screws and 316L stainless steel washers. The bezel-side sapphire is 1.50 mm thick; the caseback sapphire measures 1.20 mm at the centre and 2.04 mm at the edge, with anti-glare treatment.
- Vented strapThe strap perforations follow the pattern of ventilation ducts on period racing cars; the clasp is grade 5 titanium.
