Pink sapphire case with gem-set dial and bezel
An RM 07-02 in pink sapphire with gem setting across the dial, bezel and flange, on a white strap.
Richard Mille combines diamonds with blue sapphires and yellow sapphires alongside ornamental stones including orange spessartite, white agate or opal, and green tsavorite, chrysoprase and malachite, arranged in geometric patterns. Setting each element of the sapphire case requires a laser operating to the nearest micrometre.

Design and engineering
- Pink sapphire caseMachined from sections cut from a single block, requiring almost forty days of machining and finishing.
- Gem settingDiamonds combined with blue and yellow sapphires and ornamental stones including orange spessartite, white agate or opal, green tsavorite, chrysoprase and malachite.
- Laser mitraillageDrilling the holes for the stones is performed by laser, accurate to the nearest micrometre. Prongs in hand-polished gold, made separately, are then inserted to hold the stones.
- Calibre CRMA5Skeletonised in-house automatic movement with hours, minutes and variable-geometry rotor. Richard Mille specifies 5N red gold baseplate and bridges for the pink version.
