Overview
Flyback chronograph and annual calendar, water resistant to 300 metres
The RM 032 was introduced in 2011 as Richard Mille’s diving chronograph. The calibre RMAC2 combines a flyback chronograph with minutes and seconds counters and a 12-hour counter, an annual calendar with an oversize date at 12 o’clock and a month indicator between 4 and 5 o’clock, and a running indicator at 3 o’clock.
The case measures 50.00 × 17.80 mm and is water resistant to 300 metres, with a unidirectional rotating bezel conforming to ISO 6425.

Design and engineering
- Flyback chronographThe pusher between 4 and 5 o’clock resets the running chronograph without first stopping the mechanism.
- Annual calendarThe date advances correctly across 30- and 31-day months, February excepted. The date numerals are formed from two discs with the digits cut out as positive stencils; the month is shown in Arabic numerals between 4 and 5 o’clock.
- Running indicatorAt 3 o’clock, turning at 2 rpm. The disc alternates SuperLumiNova® and black sectors so that movement can be confirmed at a glance in daylight or darkness.
- Patented locking crownRotating the crown ring locks the crown and pushers against accidental operation under water pressure — green index unlocked, red index locked — and raises seal pressure.
- Bezel constructionAssembled from three layers held by 22 screws; the bezel rotates unidirectionally so that elapsed dive time cannot be overstated.
- Case productionAfter a 1½-hour turning phase, the tripartite case undergoes 830 operations across a nine-hour milling phase, an eleven-hour machining phase and an hour of quality control. The pushers, their components and the crown require a ten-day machining phase with repeated water-resistance testing.
