Skeletonised RMAS7 with an oversize date mechanism drawn from the RM 011
The RM 029 was built around a new skeletonised calibre, the RMAS7, carrying an oversize date mechanism derived from the RM 011. The skeletonisation alone took more than ten months to settle: numerous versions of the cut-away titanium baseplate were tested before the final pattern was chosen, because no strength or shock resistance could be given up in the process.

Design and engineering
- Ten months of skeletonisationSuccessive versions of the skeletonised titanium baseplate were tested before the final pattern of cut-aways was adopted, so that openworking cost the movement nothing in strength or shock resistance.
- Variable-geometry rotorThe rotor arms are grade 2 titanium with adjustable ribs in 18k white gold; the weight segment along the outer edge is white gold, and the ball bearings are ceramic. Moving the ribs changes the rotor’s inertia and so the rate at which the mainspring is wound.
- Titalyt®-treated baseplateBaseplate, bridges and balance-cock are grade 5 titanium with a Titalyt® treatment, giving rigidity and the surface flatness the gear train needs.
- Incabloc on both sidesThe balance wheel carries Incabloc protection on the dial side as well as the movement side.
- Oversize date bridgeFinished in black PVD.
- Calibre specification32 jewels, running at 4 Hz.
