Overview
The Perini Navi tourbillon in red Quartz TPT®
An RM 014 Japan Edition in red Quartz TPT®, its layers showing as a fibrous texture through the red, on a black rubber strap. Two polished X-shaped bridges cross the movement at 12 and 6 o’clock, and the RM014 plaque sits at 9 o’clock.
Introduced in 2006, the RM 014 was Richard Mille’s first foray into the seafaring world. Everything about it was inspired by the Maltese Falcon, the three-masted yacht built that year at the Perini Navi shipyards. The power-reserve and torque indicators were moved to the right-hand side of the dial, near the crown, to leave the movement in full view.

Design and engineering

- Red Quartz TPT®Silicon layers no thicker than 45 microns, treated with a red matrix made for Richard Mille, laid with the fibre direction turned 45° between layers and heated under pressure at 120 °C.
