Overview
Carbon TPT® case in Lotus F1 Team livery
This edition was made for the Lotus F1 Team and its driver Romain Grosjean, and was introduced at the team’s first tests of the season with the E22 car. Richard Mille had become an official partner of the Lotus F1 Team in 2013. The case is Carbon TPT®, and the dial carries the team’s racing colours.
Grosjean wore the watch outside his overalls during practice, qualifying and racing, which placed it under sustained vibration, impact and lateral loading. It is photographed on a red rubber strap.

Design and engineering
- Carbon TPT® caseThe case is machined from a block built up from more than 600 layers of parallel carbon filaments, each layer a maximum of 30 microns thick, impregnated with resin and laid with the weft rotated 45° between layers, then cured at 120 °C under 6 bar. Machining across the layers produces the surface undulation characteristic of the material and makes each case distinct.
- Two documented case configurationsThe Lotus F1 Team–Romain Grosjean RM 011 is recorded in two forms: one with bezels, caseband, crown and pushers all in Carbon TPT®, and one pairing Carbon TPT® bezels with an 18k red gold caseband and red gold crown and pushers, secured by 10 titanium screws.
- Team liveryThe dial and flange carry the racing colours of the Lotus F1 Team.
- Calibre RMAC1Skeletonised automatic winding movement in grade 5 titanium, hand finished, with flyback chronograph, 60-minute countdown timer at 9 o’clock, 12-hour totaliser at 6 o’clock, oversize date at 12 o’clock, month indicator between 4 and 5 o’clock and annual calendar.
- Movement mountingThe movement is carried on rubber O-ring seals with silent blocks and secured by grade 5 titanium spline screws with 316L stainless steel washers — the arrangement that allows the calibre to be worn under race conditions.
